Worcestershire students crowdfunding interactive toy company

Team Athena won the H&W and West Midlands Young Enterprise finals earlier this year and have now set up MyAMEgo as a limited company, with support from Worcester Business Central Start Up programme run by Blue Orchid. As an all female team of entrepreneurs they are also part of the Natwest ‘Back her Business’ programme natwestbackherbusiness.co.uk

The company product line is interactive toys that develops emotional intelligence, communication skills and mental wellbeing in order to create positive habits in childhood that can continue into later life, hence reducing the burden of the mental health crisis facing adolescents today.

The entrepreneurs are looking to raise a minimum of £3,000.

The girls’ who are second year students at Worcester Sixth Form College Team truly believe that their toys can change lives for the better and explain that: “The average age of onset for a clinically diagnosable mental health condition is just 14. If we work hard enough, we are determined to tackle the roots of these disorders by improving the way we talk about how we are doing on a daily basis, not just when things get too much to handle. Starting with small positive lifestyle changes for both adults and children, we are certain that our aMEgos are the perfect tools to aid a huge future change. For example, over 40% men will not talk to anyone about their mental health. My aMEgo Ltd want to combat this stigma early in life and changing social perceptions preventing conversations about mood and emotions. In order to reach as many young people as possible and spread the message of emotional communication to a wider scale the company needs support!

To help in their fundraising attempts, the company have set up a crowd funding page and would welcome the support of the county and beyond to achieve their target.

Please could you help raise awareness of the crowd funder - crowdfunder.co.uk/myamego and/or donate – minimum donation is £5
